Job Description:

This role leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for designing and planning our national fibre network. The team sets the strategic direction, architecture, and design standards for our network operations.

The day-to-day tasks involve:

  • Coordinating national fibre network strategy, architecture, design standards, and capacity planning.
  • Developing and managing fibre engineering scopes, budgets, schedules, cost models, and long-term cost reduction initiatives.
  • Leading annual operating plan programs, including growth, resiliency, and modernisation projects.
  • Managing procurement strategy, vendor governance, contract compliance, and material/service delivery for fibre network programs.
  • Driving innovation and automation in planning, design, provisioning, and operations.
  • Providing strategic and technical consultation for new products, enterprise/wholesale bids, and cross-functional network initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Extensive experience in telecommunications network engineering, with expertise in fibre network architecture, end-to-end design, capacity planning, and performance management at a national scale.
  • Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary technical teams, delivering large-scale network programs, aligning with strategic business objectives, and managing budgets.
  • Strong commercial and financial management, including developing cost models, driving total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction, managing vendor contracts, and leading procurement processes.
  • Sophisticated business partnering and influencing skills, capable of working with senior executives, regulatory bodies, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth understanding of emerging fibre and optical network, and ability to develop technology roadmaps that improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Proven program governance and operational excellence capabilities, including delivery of innovative process improvements, risk management, compliance, and customer experience metrics.
