Delivering cutting-edge telecommunications services to Australia's academic and research sector requires a unique blend of technical expertise, collaboration, and passion. As a Service Delivery Officer, you will be part of a dynamic team that anticipates future needs and builds innovative solutions.

The role involves working closely with skilled engineers and technicians to design, deploy, and manage optical fibre networks. Your enthusiasm for understanding optical fibre technology will be the cornerstone of your success in this position.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting network planning tasks, including engineering design activities to design, deliver, and deploy new fibre-optic services
  • Maintaining internal data systems, including fibre-optic network data, to a high level of precision and accuracy
  • Assisting with project-specific documentation and reporting, including producing high-quality customer handover documentation
  • Maintaining highly accurate fibre splicing designs for network construction projects, including auditing and verifying fibre-optic test results to preserve the integrity and reliability of AARNet services
  • Providing administrative support to the Service Delivery team as required
  • Utilising core AARNet technology to support project tasks
  • Identifying areas for improvement across systems and processes

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong logical, numerical, and spatial reasoning skills
  • Confidence in working independently
  • Experience or interest in telecommunications or networking is welcome but not essential
