Clearance Specialist
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of international shipments through customs. Your primary objective will be to facilitate efficient customs clearance operations by collaborating closely with customers, government agencies, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end customs clearance processes for import and export shipments while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations
- Review and classify customs documentation according to applicable customs regulations and determine duty rates and tax liabilities
- Resolve customs-related issues and provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and proactively resolving any clearance issues
- Develop strong working relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to achieve timely and efficient clearance results
Requirements:
- Secondary education or equivalent is required
- At least three (3) years of experience in customs is preferred
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, procedures, and trade compliance is essential
- Proficiency in customs clearance software and online customs portals is necessary
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and PC applications
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills are required
- Proven expertise in planning, organizing, accuracy, and attention to detail
