Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Approvals Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about planning and approvals, and want to make a positive impact in their community.

As an Environmental Approvals Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering planning and environmental assessments, building strong client relationships, contributing to winning work through compelling proposals, leading, mentoring, and helping shape a positive team culture.

You will collaborate with specialists across ecology, acoustics, land contamination, engineering, and design to provide expert advice on major infrastructure projects in renewables, transport, water, and property.

Recent projects include strategic environmental assessments of emerging renewable energy technologies, planning approvals for iconic infrastructure projects, and supporting the rollout of Fast Rail initiatives and Zero Emissions Bus transitions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3–15 years of experience in environmental planning and approvals
  • Proven experience leading or contributing to major projects and approval strategies
  • A sound understanding of Queensland's environmental assessment frameworks and planning legislation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage or support complex, multidisciplinary projects
  • Strong communication skills and an interest in mentoring others (for more senior candidates)
