Environmental Approvals Specialist

We are seeking a professional to lead the preparation and submission of environmental approvals for our coal mining operations across Queensland.
This is a critical role in ensuring environmental performance and regulatory compliance. As the Manager of Environmental Approvals, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the preparation and lodgment of State and Commonwealth environmental approvals for greenfield developments and amendments to existing approvals.
- Managing proactive engagement with regulatory bodies.
- Overseeing Estimated Rehabilitation Cost assessments and compliance.
- Developing and implementing Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plans.
- Managing Environmental Authorities and Environment Protection referrals.
- Coordinating biodiversity offset requirements.
- Providing input into life-of-mine planning and forecasting.
The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in environmental management within the Queensland mining sector, with demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, approvals, and leadership. Essential qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related discipline.
- 7+ years' experience in preparation, submission and negotiation of State and Commonwealth Environmental approvals.
- In-depth knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation and mining regulatory frameworks.
- Understanding of environmental approvals processes and risks.
