Job Description

As a key member of the People and Business Services Group within the Department, you will provide expert strategic advice on workplace relations matters to leadership.

The role is a key contact point between the Department and Unions for complex workplace relations matters, supporting transport and planning portfolio agencies.

You will be responsible for leading programs of work, engaging with franchise and contract management teams, preparing complex ministerial advice, managing workplace relations cases and investigations.

Additionally, you will review, develop and implement HR policies and procedures, lead enterprise bargaining activities, advocate in industrial tribunals, and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of legislative, regulatory and industrial instruments relating to employment in the Victorian Public Service
  • Sound knowledge of the broader transport sector
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex human resource, industrial and/or workplace relations issues
  • Proven ability to deal with complexity comfortably and use analytical skills to solve problems
