Information Services Manager
Job DescriptionThe role of Information Services Manager is a key leadership position that requires visionary, creative and effective leadership to provide cohesive information, communication and technology functions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, leading and managing the Information Services Department, including the implementation of the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Strategic Plan and contributing to subsequent Operational Plans, policies and operating procedures.
This role will contribute to the achievement of Council's vision and corporate goals by encouraging innovative development and implementation of service delivery standards relevant to the Department.
Key Responsibilities- Reporting to the Director Corporate, Community and Development Services, the incumbent exercises both managerial and operational responsibility for the Information Services (IS) Department.
- Ensuring that Council's IS services and infrastructure support the organisation's operational and strategic plans, including the planning, direction, control and evaluation of the ICT operation across a multi-site environment.
- Advising senior management of future ICT requirements and determining priorities for development and maintenance of the corporate computer environment.
- Providing effective liaison between IS and all levels of management and employees within the Council on all matters relating to IS, and external parties as required.
- Responsible for ensuring network security and implementing IS disaster recovery measures as identified in Council's Disaster Recovery Plan.
- A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business or Management or a relevant discipline with significant and diverse experience in both operational areas and management.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with proven management experience within a relevant multi-disciplined environment.
- Proven ability in managing, delivering, and monitoring budgets effectively.
- Extensive experience in information technology management, particularly in the implementation and management of financial systems, procedures and policies.
- High level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, accurate and practical advice to Directors, Managers and Employees.
- Advanced ability to use current technology to manage systems and software.
- Current Queensland 'C' Class licence or equivalent.
- Up to 12.5% Superannuation employer contribution.
