Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Microbiologist to join our team. As part of Sonic Healthcare, we provide diagnostic pathology services to the region and are committed to delivering high-quality results.
The successful applicant will have strong scientific skills, excellent communication skills, and experience working in the microbiology field. They will be responsible for processing microbiology and molecular biology samples, interpreting results from clinical samples, and participating in quality control and assurance programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process microbiology and molecular biology samples from initial setup to reporting
- Interpret and analyze results from clinical samples
- Experience with microscopy, plate reading, MALDI-TOF, Vitek, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing
- Participate in quality control and assurance programs
- Be proactive in dealing with customers and demonstrate accuracy in detail-oriented tasks
Requirements:
- Relevant bachelor degree qualification or medical laboratory scientist assessment by AIMS
- At least 2 years experience in a pathology laboratory, particularly in microbiology
