Key Role: Legal and Compliance Leader

We are seeking a highly motivated lawyer to join our team in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will be a strong team-player who collaborates locally and across the regional and global legal & business continuity function.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic legal advice and operational support for local business units and other functions.
  • Plan and implement product promotion and launch strategies, including market access support.
  • Support a self-service contract platform for use by business units and functions, and negotiate complex agreements.
  • Regulate and reimburse medicines in compliance with relevant acts.
  • Advise on competition law and anti-bribery anti-corruption processes.
  • Design, develop, and deliver legal training programs.
Compliance Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic compliance operational support in implementing compliance practices within the affiliate and ensuring alignment and consistency.
  • Collaborate with compliance teams across the organization on policy, practices, and training.
  • Ensure the affiliate understands the compliance requirements and areas of potential risk.
  • Advice on points of interpretation for compliance requirements and internal approval processes.
  • Participate in approving high-risk activities and promotional materials associated with healthcare professional interactions.
  • Support periodic compliance audits and ongoing monitoring of compliance of events and materials.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A fully qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Australia.
  • 10+ years of legal experience preferably with industry and law firm experience.
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or other highly regulated industries.
