We are seeking an experienced Mine Accountant to join our team in Newcastle.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting for a mine site. This involves stewardship of the general ledger, utilisation of Business Intelligence systems to prepare insightful reporting, and understanding business performance.
This position includes completing month-end processes, annual budgeting, and mid-year forecasts using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The Mine Accountant will also generate reporting and insights through Business Intelligence tools such as IBM Planning and Analytics.
The role requires travel to the Gunnedah region once a month and includes site visits for building relationships with stakeholders and gaining knowledge of our operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare all management accounting and financial reporting, including monthly mine site reporting and ad-hoc reporting.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support audit requirements for multiple mines during hard close, half-year, and full-year audit processes, as well as joint venture accounting and reporting.
- Stewardship of the general ledger for company codes, ensuring correct allocation of expenses.
- Develop expertise in Pulse (ERP) and TM1 (Business Intelligence software).
- Participate in testing system updates.
