Job Title: Technical Director- Highways

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Director to lead our Highways team. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and overseeing the delivery of complex highway projects.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines. They will also have excellent stakeholder management skills and be able to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee the full lifecycle of highway projects, from planning to close-out.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and timely decision-making.
  • Contract & Commercial Oversight: Administer contracts, manage compensation events, and ensure commercial reporting and budget control.
  • Programme Management: Lead the development and maintenance of project schedules using tools like Primavera P6, ensuring milestones are met and risks are mitigated.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Team Coordination: Lead multidisciplinary teams across civil, structural, geotechnical, and digital disciplines, ensuring collaborative delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply lessons learned to improve planning, delivery, and governance processes.
Requirements
  • Degree in civil engineering or equivalent qualifications.
  • 10+ years of experience in the delivery of Transport infrastructure engineering for design for construction contractors, PPP's or Alliances.
  • Proven ability to manage complex design interfaces and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with typical client and stakeholder requirements.
