About the Position
- A Behaviour Support Practitioner will be working with diverse clients to provide high-quality, person-centred behaviour support services. This role is crucial for developing and implementing tailored behaviour support plans that promote positive outcomes and enhance quality of life.
- This position involves conducting comprehensive assessments to identify functional behaviours and support needs, as well as developing evidence-based behaviour support plans with clients, families, and care teams.
Key Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in psychology, social work or related allied health discipline, along with experience in provision of behaviour support services, preferably within disability or mental health sectors.
- They should possess thorough understanding of positive behaviour support principles and strong clinical assessment and case formulation skills.
- This role requires effective communication and interpersonal skills, engaging with clients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Continuous learning and professional development are essential for staying up-to-date with best practices in behaviour support.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in provision of behaviour support services, preferably within disability or mental health sectors.
- Thorough understanding of positive behaviour support principles and ability to apply them in practice.
- Strong clinical assessment and case formulation skills, with ability to develop tailored behaviour support plans.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, engaging with clients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.
