About the Position

  • A Behaviour Support Practitioner will be working with diverse clients to provide high-quality, person-centred behaviour support services. This role is crucial for developing and implementing tailored behaviour support plans that promote positive outcomes and enhance quality of life.
  • This position involves conducting comprehensive assessments to identify functional behaviours and support needs, as well as developing evidence-based behaviour support plans with clients, families, and care teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in psychology, social work or related allied health discipline, along with experience in provision of behaviour support services, preferably within disability or mental health sectors.
  • They should possess thorough understanding of positive behaviour support principles and strong clinical assessment and case formulation skills.
  • This role requires effective communication and interpersonal skills, engaging with clients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Continuous learning and professional development are essential for staying up-to-date with best practices in behaviour support.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in provision of behaviour support services, preferably within disability or mental health sectors.
  • Thorough understanding of positive behaviour support principles and ability to apply them in practice.
  • Strong clinical assessment and case formulation skills, with ability to develop tailored behaviour support plans.
