API Platforms Manager

This role will see you leading the design capabilities team to build core APIs and SDKs that power our growing ecosystem of third-party apps. You will be responsible for designing and delivering foundational capabilities that let these apps feel native within our platform.

  • You will collaborate with product, design, and developer platform teams to shape APIs used by millions of users globally.
  • You will drive architectural direction and make high-leverage technical decisions.
  • You will grow and empower a high-performing frontend/full stack team to build secure, scalable platforms.
  • You will advocate for external developers and create tools that unlock new design experiences.

The API Platforms group exists to make us the most pluggable design platform in the world. Our APIs and SDKs power a thriving developer ecosystem that delivers apps, connectors, and integrations used by millions of users globally. The Design Capabilities team focuses on enabling deep document-level automation and visual manipulation through APIs—unlocking infinite possibilities for our users and partners.

Job Requirements
  • You have experience leading high-performing engineering teams in API or platform environments.
  • You're confident in navigating ambiguous product and technical challenges.
  • You have strong product instincts and know how to prioritise what matters most.
  • You're an effective coach who builds inclusive, psychologically safe environments.
  • You know your way around full-stack technologies and are comfortable being hands-on when needed (we use TypeScript frontend and Java backend).
  • You enjoy collaborating across functions and aligning diverse stakeholders toward bold goals.
