Australian Broadcasting Corporation - Content Producer Role in Cairns

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Content Producer to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality content that engages local audiences across multiple platforms.

About the Role:

  • Salary: AU$77,000 - AU$94,622 per annum plus 15.4% nominated superannuation
  • Location: Cairns, Queensland
  • Job Type: Permanent Full-time

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and produce compelling stories that showcase the unique aspects of Far North Queensland and its communities.
  2. Present local programs as required, ensuring a high level of professionalism and engagement with our audience.
  3. Provide in-studio production support, managing talk-back callers and guests while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
  4. Create local content that can be shared with other content teams across the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
  5. Cross-promote other ABC content to increase audience engagement and build a loyal following.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Accomplished editorial skills, including the ability to source and analyze information and exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated understanding and passion for sourcing and creating authentic content that represents the diversity of the Australian community.
  • Possession of a current and valid driver's licence.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel to various locations within Far North Queensland.
