Job Description

This dynamic role involves conducting investigations into licence holders and other parties who may be in breach of legislative requirements. The successful candidate will contribute to the integrity of the industry and the protection of Queenslanders by undertaking thorough and professional investigations.

The Compliance Investigations Officer will be responsible for preparing investigation plans, managing high-volume caseloads, and applying best-practice investigative techniques such as offence elementisation, evidence matrix development, and conducting interviews. They will also prepare briefs of evidence for disciplinary, civil, or criminal proceedings, conduct proactive compliance activities including audits and surveillance, and provide advice to internal staff and external stakeholders on regulatory matters.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a Certificate IV in Investigation or equivalent qualifications, along with a minimum of three years' investigative experience, ideally in a government or regulatory environment. Demonstrated alignment with the QBCC's vision and values, showing resilience, initiative, and a commitment to customer engagement are essential.

Candidates must also have the ability to build relationships, communicate clearly, and uphold professional and legislative standards to support a safer and more compliant building and construction industry in Queensland.
