About the Role

GHD is seeking a Senior Advisor to join our Regulation & Assurance team with a focus on Power Systems Capability and Planning. This role can be located in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, or Sydney.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver technical power system planning and analysis, and related regulation and access projects and other advisory engagements.
  • Provide inputs for proposals and opportunity-related pursuits.
  • Support the development of tools and systems to efficiently deliver quality power system planning and analysis advice.
  • Work with Technical Directors and Senior Advisors to shape service offerings and form relationships with potential clients.
  • Contribute to projects across the broader advisory business as required.
  • Work on projects focusing on steady state analysis, load flow and fault level studies, dynamic analysis, frequency and voltage stability studies, harmonic analysis including power quality and filter design studies, grid code compliance reviews for generators, energy storage systems and loads, wide area power systems studies, and protection co-ordination studies.
  • Support other advisory teams with infrastructure-related investment advice, advice on operating decisions, and the delivery of power systems projects and proposals.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree in electrical engineering or power systems.
  • Knowledge of fundamental power system analysis concepts.
  • Curious through experimentation and experience and seeks ways to grow and to be challenged by new and novel conditions.
  • Software experience with PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, Simulink, Python, Matlab or Mudpak.
  • A Client Centric approach with a key focus on prioritizing client needs, taking action to provide high-quality client experience.
  • Knowledge of Australian grid codes is desirable.
