As a highly skilled and innovative spatial ecologist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our rehabilitation monitoring program.

About the Role

We are seeking an expert in strategic design, execution, and compliance oversight of spatial data and systems crucial to our rehabilitation efforts.

This key position is instrumental in demonstrating rehabilitation performance against completion criteria for our mining estate and providing essential evidence for the handback of rehabilitated land.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead Spatial Monitoring Standards
  • Develop Advanced Spatial Analysis Software
  • Manage Remote Sensing Survey Data
  • Analyse Environmental Data
  • Conduct Ecological Field Surveys
  • Oversee Rehabilitation Database Management

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental science, botany, ecology, or spatial sciences.
  • Proven experience working with spatial data, with considerable knowledge and understanding of flora and/or fauna assessments, preferably in WA Jarrah Forest or closed forest canopy ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated experience using remote sensing techniques and technologies, with a strong understanding of data collection methods (e.g. UAVs, satellites, manned aircraft).
  • High level of experience with Esri's ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Experience with database management and/or SQL.
  • Strong project coordination, management, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
