The RoleWe are looking for an experienced Remote Sensing Analyst who is seeking new opportunities to innovate and extend their knowledge. You will have the opportunity to work on industry leading projects alongside our talented team of remote sensing analysts, GIS analysts and data scientists. The projects we work on focus on delivering innovative ecological solutions using cutting-edge workflow and algorithm design and include a mix of remote sensing, spatial analysis, data science and environmental science. We emphasise collaboration and teamwork in all aspects of our work. You will be mentored and supported by our experienced team members, and be encouraged to progress your expertise and career.
To be considered for this role, you must meet these essential criteria:

An undergraduate degree in a relevant scientific field that incorporates significant geospatial coursework or a relevant Bachelor's degree with postgraduate qualification in geospatial science - examples of relevant degrees include (but are not limited to): geospatial science, environmental science, geography, data science

Demonstrated work experience in remote sensing or spatial analysis either within the commercial sector or in the research space

Experience in working with multispectral imagery in an environmental context across an array of spatial scales, imaging systems and resolutions

Experience performing geospatial analysis in an environmental context

Experience working with surface models and elevation data
-
Ability to pre-process and correct remotely sensed imagery such as satellite imagery, aerial photography, and UAV data to be ready for analysis

Experience in the use of Python, Java, R, or another mainstream language for processing and analysing remotely sensed and other geospatial data

Experience in technical and scientific writing

Knowledge of or experience in photogrammetry
It would be advantageous if you also met any of these desirable criteria:

Work experience in the private sector

Advanced modelling expertise (machine learning, deep learning, etc.)

Experience in LiDAR point-cloud processing and analysis

Knowledge of or experience working with hyperspectral data

Knowledge of or experience in the use of RADAR and other active remote sensing systems

Experience mentoring less experienced staff and leading projects
This position is based in East Perth, Western Australia. We are unable to facilitate remote working arrangements, and therefore are only accepting applications from candidates willing to relocate or already based in Perth.
The TeamOur Earth Observation team is diverse and innovative, with an incredibly friendly and collaborative culture. We are made up of remote sensing analysts, GIS analysts, data scientists and statisticians. Our work spans local and international projects across the resources, infrastructure, utility, conservation and public sectors. We make use of the wide range of skillsets and backgrounds in our team to deliver innovative products and analyses using many types of ecological and environmental data. Our team works with the full spectrum of remotely sensed data, whether it be acquired from the ground, with drones, using aircraft or space-based sensors. We have an active R&D program and are at the forefront of recent developments in ecological survey and monitoring, remote sensing (terrestrial/coastal/water) and modelling.
