Electrical Technician Job Description

This role is for a skilled and experienced Electrical Technician who will be responsible for maintaining and improving the electrical systems in our water operations.

  • Maintenance of electrical switchboards, motors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Support to the Water Management and Treatment (WMAT) and Water Operations (WOP) teams
  • Identification and removal of limitations or deterioration that affect system performance
  • Maintenance and update of data within the planned maintenance system, including schedules, procedures, work history, and parts usage
  • Training and guidance to staff on the operation and maintenance of electrical assets
  • Assistance with installations and equipment upgrades
  • Support and maintenance of Telemetry, SCADA, and instrumentation systems

Key Requirements:

  • Electrical Trade Certificate along with a Contractor Licence and/or Qualified Supervisors Certificate (Electrician)
  • Proven experience as an electrician, ideally within the water industry or a related process driven environment
  • Technical expertise in instrumentation, switchboards, large motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), high voltage systems, PLCs, SCADA systems, radio telemetry, and condition based monitoring

Benefits:

  • Commencing salary circa $74,700 p.a. - 82,200 p.a. plus superannuation
  • Water Allowance of $133.61 per week
  • A to and from use vehicle (for work purposes only)
