Electrical Engineer - Water Operations

This is a unique opportunity to launch your career in electrical engineering while enjoying a beautiful lifestyle on the stunning Barrington Coast. You'll be part of a proactive and forward-thinking team committed to delivering exceptional water services to our community.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for electrical systems, instrumentation, and switchboards, with strong experience in the water industry or a related process-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Specialise in electrical switchboards, motors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Support the Water Management and Treatment (WMAT) and Water Operations (WOP) teams
  • Identify and remove limitations or deterioration that affect system performance
  • Maintain and update data within the planned maintenance system, including schedules, procedures, work history, and parts usage
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on the operation and maintenance of electrical assets
  • Assist with installations and equipment upgrades
  • Support and maintain Telemetry, SCADA, and instrumentation systems
Required Qualifications:
  • Evidence of an Electrical Trade Certificate and Contractor Licence, and/or Qualified Supervisors Certificate (Electrician)
  • Proven experience as an electrician, preferably within the water industry or a related process-driven environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of instrumentation and switchboards, large motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), high voltage systems, PLCs, SCADA systems, radio telemetry, and condition-based monitoring
  • A focus on safety, solutions-oriented, and able to thrive in a collaborative team setting
