Water Operations Specialist - Electrical Maintenance

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Operations Specialist to maintain and improve our water and sewer systems. This role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure the efficient operation of our electrical assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Specialise in the maintenance and upgrade of electrical switchboards, motors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Support the Water Management and Treatment (WMAT) and Water Operations (WOP) teams in their daily activities
  • Identify and rectify limitations or deterioration that affect system performance
  • Maintain and update data within the planned maintenance system, including schedules, procedures, work history, and parts usage
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on the operation and maintenance of electrical assets
  • Assist with installations and equipment upgrades
  • Support and maintain Telemetry, SCADA, and instrumentation systems
Requirements:
  • Audited Electrical Trade Certificate along with a Contractor Licence and/or Qualified Supervisors Certificate (Electrician)
  • Proven experience as an electrician, ideally within the water industry or a related process driven environment
  • Technical expertise in instrumentation and switchboards, large motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), high voltage systems, PLCs, SCADA systems, radio telemetry, and condition based monitoring
  • Safety focused, solutions oriented, and thrives in a collaborative team setting
