Role Overview

Job Summary

We are seeking a Financial Operations Specialist to join our team and contribute to the success of our Defence division. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial management, budgeting, and analysis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial operations of a state-wide defence contract, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient processing of accounts payable and receivable.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to take on a key role in our finance team and work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of budgets, including forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Evaluate financial data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Monitor and control costs to ensure adherence to budget targets and identify areas for cost savings.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Ideal 3+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a defence or government contracting environment.
  • A strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
