About the Role

The Financial Operations Specialist is responsible for performing a range of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes. This includes undertaking month-end procedures, such as journal entries and accruals, as well as analyzing financial results and communicating findings to stakeholders.

Reconciliation and management of balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, are key responsibilities of this role. Other tasks include assisting with the preparation of annual budgets, ensuring financial accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant policies.

A focus area for the ideal candidate is examining operating expenditures and identifying opportunities for cost optimization. The successful applicant will have a Degree in Accounting or a related field, with at least 5 years of finance experience in Australia. Strong communication skills, resilience, and a team player attitude are essential for success in this role.

This position reports to the Financial Controller and works closely with Senior Accountants and Finance Officers. The organization values career progression and employee longevity.
