Key Role:

The Commercial Finance Analyst role is a vital position within the Business, Planning and Analytics (BP&A) team. This expert will work closely with finance, commercial, and business development teams to provide critical insights and support.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver monthly reports on key performance indicators and financial metrics for various departments.
  • Prepare forecasts and comment on business performance, highlighting areas of strength and opportunity for growth.
  • Produce strategic reports for UMA departments, leveraging data and analytics to inform business decisions.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting requests from labels or other business areas, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Financial Analysis:
  • Build comprehensive budgets and forecasts that reflect stakeholder inputs and market trends for multiple UMA departments.
  • Provide narrative explanations for major drivers in corporate forecast/plan revenues, highlighting key factors influencing business outcomes.
  • Maintain a rolling forecast, updating key drivers monthly to ensure alignment with evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate with finance to ensure financial and commercial outcomes are aligned, driving business success.
Modelling and Analytics:
  • Develop project feasibilities, including physical pricing and demand analysis.
  • Opportunities to assist with deals appraisals for artists, providing modelling and analytics for best deal structures.
About You:
  • At least two years' experience in a commercial finance role, with a strong analytical mindset.
  • Degree qualified in Commerce, Accounting, or Economics (preferred).
  • A keen interest in learning the ins and outs of the music industry, with a bonus if you've worked in Music/Entertainment before.
  • Ability to derive insights from data, think critically, and navigate ambiguity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience in using analytics tools like Domo desirable.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a solid attention to detail.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
