Operational Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Auto & General. As a key member of our Recoveries and Settlements leadership team, you will play a critical role in delivering our risk management strategy.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate and Facilitate Training Initiatives: Develop and implement training programs to strengthen risk management activities and facilitate workshops for risk and control identification.
- Advise on Business Continuity Framework: Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing review of our Business Continuity Framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Operational Risk Management: Identify, assess, and document operational risks, including incident management and risk profile analysis, ensuring risk assessments are in place for the department you are responsible for.
- Risk Register Management: Develop and maintain risk registers, heat maps, and other risk management tools, conducting root cause analysis, identifying lessons learned, and implementing corrective actions and remediation plans as required.
- Regulatory Compliance: Manage the response to regulator requests and regulatory change, leading the incident response effort, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- BreachCos and Risk Mitigation: Support and represent the business in BreachCos, ensuring effective collaboration and communication, and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, controls, and procedures.
- Risk Assessments and Monitoring: Perform risk assessments for data protection, supplier management, and risk management programs, monitoring management incidents, audit actions, and treatment plans.
- 2+ years of experience working in a similar position, with experience in the financial services industry, preferably general insurance.
- Ability to build and sustain effective relationships, with strong negotiation and influencing ability, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong background in incident management, risk profile, and risk reporting.
- Demonstrated understanding of legislative, regulatory, and compliance obligations to operate in a FSR environment, and proficiency in regulatory and compliance obligations relating to GICOP, Privacy, Corps Act, and Claims Handling.
- Exposure in third-party risk management is highly desirable.
