Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a second-in-charge in our Before and After School Care program. As a Second in Charge, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional experience for the children in our care.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the Director of Service with the creation and implementation of enriching experiences based on the preferences of the children in their program (programming). They will also support ensuring their program is compliant according to industry regulations and interact with parents to help them with enquiries wherever possible.

The successful applicant will engage with the school community by attending events and assemblies when the Director cannot attend, while also playing and having fun with primary school-aged children. Additionally, they will co-manage or coordinate during the school holiday program.

This part-time role offers stable and permanent hours up to 25 hours per week. We welcome applicants who are qualified or studying towards an ACECQA recognised qualification in Victoria.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Service with creating and implementing enriching experiences for children
  • Ensure program compliance with industry regulations
  • Interact with parents to assist with enquiries
  • Engage with the school community at events and assemblies
  • Co-manage or coordinate during the school holiday program

Requirements:

  • Possession of excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude
  • Passion for working with children and energy to match
  • Previous experience working in Before and After School Care or education preferred but not essential
