The Role
This position works under the general direction of the Family Services Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of services related to AFLDM, Cultural Planning, and Case Management for children in OOHC. The role involves providing effective oversight of these programs to meet and exceed performance and delivery targets that reflect community needs, emphasizing quality systems, continuous improvement, and community-focused programming.
For Aboriginal families and children, respecting culture and maintaining its integrity is crucial for health and development. Traditional Aboriginal culture is inherently relational and interconnected, viewing individuals as living in relationships with family, community, land, and spiritual beings, guided by lores and dreaming. Interventions should respect these strong connections, and case workers should adopt a holistic approach to child and family needs, avoiding feelings of isolation.
