The Rottnest Island Authority seeks a seasoned finance professional to join its Corporate Executive management team as the Senior Manager Finance and Procurement/Chief Financial Officer. Estimated salary for this position is AU$120,000 - AU$160,000 per annum.

As a key member of the RIA's leadership team, you will participate in strategic planning, governance, and policy development. The role leads the Finance and Procurement Branch, overseeing financial reporting, budget preparation, and procurement activities in accordance with Western Australian rules.

You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and providing high-level advice on financial systems, risk management, and complex financial issues. In addition, you will oversee RIA's procurement activities and provide executive leadership to drive positive change within the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant accounting qualification, current membership of a professional accounting body, and excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. They will also have experience in managing finance functions, oversighting procurement, and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience in finance function management and associated key outputs, including budget preparation within public sector financial reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in oversighting procurement in accordance with the Western Australian Procurement Rules and project delivery.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, including computer literacy and advanced user skills in financial and analytical software.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including well-developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Possession of a relevant accounting qualification and current membership of an appropriate professional accounting body.
  • Ability to apply and promote the principles of equity, diversity, and work health and safety in the workplace.
