Air Operations Coordinator Role

About the Job

This Air Operations Coordinator position is a key role in our Defence Search and Rescue contact management team. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and controlling aircraft life support equipment, deployment planning, crew scheduling and travel across the DSARS contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Roster Management: Ensure adequate coverage across all locations, including planning for deployments, leave, and training activities (e.g., simulator sessions).
  • Travel & Scheduling: Plan and schedule all travel-related activities in line with roster management.
  • Deployment Support: Provide logistical support under the direction of the DSARS Contract Manager, including securing critical supplies such as fuel and other essentials, especially in remote locations.
  • Life Support and Role Equipment Oversight: Actively manage all contract-assigned equipment, including uniforms and PPE, harnesses and assemblies, immersion suits, flight/mission helmets, and other mission-critical equipment.
  • Onboarding/Offboarding: Manage personnel onboarding and offboarding, and track issued equipment to ensure it is maintained and returned per company procedures.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in operations coordination, logistics, or scheduling within aviation, defence, or similar high-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with crew rostering, travel planning, and deployment logistics.
  • Experience managing equipment and supplies, preferably in remote or challenging locations.
  • Prior exposure to aviation support operations or contract-based service delivery is highly desirable.
