Job Role: Emergency Medical Dispatcher

This critical position involves collaborating with healthcare providers and receiving emergency calls to provide pre-arrival advice, dispatch resources, and coordinate patient transport movements for the community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with callers and colleagues.

Key performance objectives include:

  • De-escalating highly emotive situations and maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Contributing to a collaborative team environment to achieve performance objectives and customer service outcomes.
  • Applying reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills to assess patient needs and determine appropriate courses of action.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Hold a current Provide First Aid Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Complete the Certificate III and Certificate IV in Ambulance Communications within 12 months of appointment.
  • Undertake a probationary period of 12 months.
  • Meet all required performance objectives and complete mandatory training.
