We comprise the Fire and Rescue Service (FRS), the Rural Fire Service (RFS), and the State Emergency Service (SES).

  • Our approach helps people stay safe during emergencies.

The Role

This role requires commitment to:

  • Responding to emergency calls – 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours; or 30% of calls as a shift worker or having non-routine hours.
  • Attending 75% of regular drills and training sessions.
  • Obtaining an MRV licence within 12 months of employment.
  • Participating in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs.
  • Complying with policies and procedures, including code of conduct, safety, and personal presentation standards.

Key Accountabilities

As part of a team, you will respond to fires and other emergencies.

You will promote community safety by contributing to education activities.

Develop and maintain competencies by participating in regular drills and training courses.

Operate specialist equipment safely and effectively.

Contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.

Maintain and repair operational equipment and station facilities.

Contribute to incident reporting and general station administration.

Promote teamwork and compliance with requirements.

Communicate effectively with colleagues and the community.

Adhere to health and safety principles.
