About the Role

Cubic - Global is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director Business Development, APAC to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving growth and revenue expansion in the Asia Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regional Growth Strategy
    • Develop and implement comprehensive market/segment specific business development strategies to achieve bookings, revenue, and profit within the assigned region;
    • Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to expand market presence and increase market share;
    • Keep abreast of market trends, industry developments, competitor activity, and customer requirements to identify potential areas for growth and innovation;
    • Build and establish strong internal and external strategic partnerships & alliances that will improve Cubic's reputation in the market;
    • Identify and anticipate any economic, political, legal, or any other environmental factors that could influence strategies and impact the company's position in the market;
  • Sales and Marketing
    • Oversee all business development activities aligned to the annual operating plan (AOP) and Strategic plan. Drive customer acquisition and retention strategies;
    • Develop sales plans and lead the local BD team to execute to meet revenue targets and growth plans. Responsible for the team's own growth target financial results;
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to segment regional markets based on relevant geographical needs and/or specific service requirements which will help Cubic understand how best to target and serve these customers;
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective marketing campaigns and promotional materials as needed;
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the CTS and foster relationships;
    • Ensure the CRM system (Salesforce) is maintained and up to date. Prepare and present reports and updates on sales performance, market trends, and activities to senior leadership.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to get a deep understanding of the account;
    • Identify and even in cases anticipate customer needs to develop and work through solutions that are tailored to those needs in line with the relevant technology trends;
    • Collaborate with cross-functional global teams including innovation, engineering, contracts, pricing, marketing, and operations to ensure that customer requirements are understood intimately, and solutions are consequently delivered to the customer's satisfaction;
    • Own yourself or through your team(s) the customer solution from identification to award. Partner with the bid manager and proposal team to prepare shaping documents, pre-qualification, and compliant tender submission;
    • Oversee capture plans for all forecasted opportunities and conduct stage gate reviews to enable a compelling customer solution.
  • Competitive Analysis
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends and competitor strategies;
    • Use insights to develop competitive positioning and differentiate the company's offerings in the market.
  • Reporting lines and Team responsibilities
    • Lead and manage the team, provide clear direction on goals and objectives. Provide regular feedback and manage performance to achieve individual and team goals (target driven). Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement;
    • Be responsible for developing the next generation of talent through mentoring and coaching;
    • Will also have a dotted line responsibility for the regional technical team, partnering with the team and other internal subject matter experts to shape customer solutions.
    Requirements
    • University degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field; MBA preferred plus twelve years of sales management experience preferably in global marketing/business development, and strategic planning;
    • Proven track record in delivering revenue growth and closing business deals. Strategic thinker with a results-orientated mindset and strong negotiation skills. Strong understanding of the market dynamics, trends, and competitive landscape;
    • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage priorities;
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build high-performing teams;
    • Able to travel frequently within the region and internationally as required.
