Rehabilitation Physician Role

The Polio Service Victoria team is seeking a Rehabilitation Physician to cover Long Service Leave from 1/09/2025 until 28/11/2025.

This position involves working within a flexible, interdisciplinary structure to ensure clients receive appropriate treatment. The rehabilitation physician provides medical leadership in managing the late effects of polio and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team through clinic appointments and case conferences to develop management strategies.

PSV delivers multi-disciplinary regional clinics six times per year. During this tenure, attendance at one overnight regional clinic in October 2025 is preferred. Flexible arrangements, such as telehealth, can be negotiated.

The role is based at St Vincent's Hospital and involves up to 12 hours per fortnight, with Wednesday afternoons and full days on Thursdays on alternating weeks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specialist registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia/AHPRA
  • Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine or equivalent
  • Participation in an approved CME program
  • Experience with management of people with a history of polio is preferred

Salary classifications range from HN16 to HN56 ($208.45 per hour), depending on experience.
