Health and Safety Lead Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Lead Specialist to join our team at WorkPac, a leading workforce solutions business.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will support our clients in complying with their health and safety management systems, particularly in the Kwinana area. This is a key role that requires expertise in WHS legislation and the ability to provide guidance to employees and managers on health and safety matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on health and safety matters to employees and managers.
- Conduct or assist incident investigations using the ICAM investigation methodology.
- Review, update, and issue H&S management plans and risk registers to ensure alignment with internal, client, and legislative requirements.
- Report and investigate all hazards and incidents, supporting the implementation of agreed control measures in accordance with best practice and guidelines.
- Participate in toolbox and pre-start meetings on site.
- Attend client safety meetings as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation.
- Attend and participate in regular team meetings.
- Lead onsite meetings with key management positions prior to auditing and review processes to ensure effective completion of SHEQ and compliance documentation.
- Responsible for implementing and adhering to all safety policies, plans, and procedures in your area of responsibility.
- Provide visible safety leadership.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or certificate in Health and Safety or Environmental.
- At least 3 years' experience as a SHEQ advisor or equivalent.
- Demolition experience would be advantageous.
- Current Class C Driver's License.
- Demonstrated experience in hazard and risk assessment and mitigation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of WHS and other relevant legislation.
- Sound knowledge of business computer systems and standard programs required for the role.
- Sound knowledge of investigation techniques to industry standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to ensure safety compliance and auditing requirements are met.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Deliver quality customer service, contribute to service improvements, and influence change.
- Highly developed communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to formulate recommendations.
- ICAM Lead Investigator or equivalent.
- Lead Auditor Accreditation or equivalent.
- SHEQ experience within an industrial sector or equivalent.
Estimated Salary Range:
A competitive salary range of $85,000 - $105,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications, plus benefits.
