Role Overview:

As a skilled Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics to ensure accurate installation of mechanical systems
  • Operate hand and power tools to fabricate parts as needed
  • Install and repair hydraulic systems to guarantee optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and make necessary repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, assemble, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and make necessary repairs
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter
  • Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Trade certificates in mechanical fitting are required
  • A white card/tickets are also required
