Role Overview

">Job Title: Public Service Representative

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Service Representative to undertake key negotiations on behalf of Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) and represent the Agency's views on particular offender issues to the Parole Board Queensland (PBQ).

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of QCS' strategic objectives, PBQ responsibilities and functions, and relevant legislation and judicial review processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare briefings, reports, submissions, and other correspondence for senior stakeholders on complex and confidential parole board issues and decisions.
  • Analyse risk or improvement opportunities, research multiple sources of information, generate options and solutions, and provide well-informed evidence-based recommendations to drive quality board decision-making.
  • Liaise with Queensland Police Service, QCS Intelligence Group, and other QCS operational staff to facilitate the provision of sensitive and protected information to the PBQ relevant to individual prisoner files.
  • Provide expert advice to the PBQ on QCS policy, procedure, and practice relating to offender management and statutory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in offender supervision, rehabilitation, and policy development is highly desirable.
