Job Overview:

The role of Senior Geotechnical Engineer entails leading technical excellence in geotechnical design and construction support. As a key member of the team, you will shape project strategy, manage geotechnical risks, and ensure seamless integration of complex design solutions across tunnelling, retaining structures, ground improvement, and foundation systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and review of geotechnical analyses, reports, and designs to ensure technical excellence
  • Site investigations, monitoring programs, and assessment of geotechnical risks
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams for integration of geotechnical solutions into broader project delivery
  • Technical advice to project leadership and stakeholders, including participation in engagement activities
  • Mentorship of junior engineers and graduates towards achieving Chartered Engineering Status
  • Advocacy of safety, sustainability, and quality within a geotechnical team

About You:

We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related discipline, accompanied by 10-15 years of experience as a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist. Preference is given to candidates with experience on large infrastructure projects. Required skills include temporary works management, subsurface and groundwater investigation expertise, logging pile, excavation, and drilling soil samples, and conducting groundwater assessments. Additionally, the successful candidate should be able to calculate and assess ground bearing pressures for various plant and structures, assess and interpret geotechnical design drawings and technical reports, and possess knowledge of contamination assessment for soil and groundwater.
