The Lead Accounting Policy Specialist role presents an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact on financial and sustainability reporting in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day tasks will involve:

  • Researching, consulting, and developing technical policies and guidelines;
  • Preparing and reviewing technical accounting advice;
  • Delivering training and guidance;
  • Assisting agencies implement Accounting Standards and Treasury policies;
  • Preparing submissions to standard setters, including the Australian Accounting Standards Board.

You will be responsible for providing expert advice on Australian Accounting Standards, prioritizing projects, communicating effectively, and sharing knowledge and experience.

Requirements

  • A deep understanding of Australian Accounting Standards;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
