Manager - Accounting Policy and Advice

Join a leading Australian Bank to deliver Accounting Policy and Advice for financial processes, external reporting, and various corporate transactions

You will have the opportunity to develop and maintain the Group's accounting policies and frameworks and support on transactions within your specific subject matter expert area.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Group in understanding and implementation of accounting standard changes
  • Advise this business on appropriate accounting treatments for proposed transactions aligned with policy
  • Create and maintain the Group's accounting policies and frameworks in specific subject matter expert areas
  • Provision of technical accounting advise as it pertains to complex transactions and product development
  • Represent the Group at local industry forums

Experience:

  • CA/CPA qualified or equivalent
  • Previous experience in the banking or non-bank lending industry with a background in technical accounting
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and AASB accounting standards is required and experience with IFRS 3, 9, 15 is highly regarded
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment adhering to pre-determined timeframes
