Veterinary Receptionist job at a veterinary clinic in Camberwell

Job Description:

As a key member of the front-of-house team, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming calls to book appointments, provide informative animal care advice where appropriate, and screen or take messages for other team members as required.

You will determine patients requiring urgent treatment and assign emergency appointments as needed. Additionally, you will assist in monitoring and coaching others on safe workplace procedures.

Key responsibilities include determining and preparing all client/patient required information, coordinating the completion of required client forms prior to each consult, and assisting with billing, payment, check-out, and rebooking of outgoing clients and patients.

You will also be responsible for preparing the reception area for opening, preparing client appointment files for the day, assisting with stock management, and participating in return-to-work plans as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in a customer service or reception role
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office level
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a calm and friendly manner
  • Demonstrates compassion and empathy, with strong emotional resilience
  • Works well in a team and independently, with ability to build and maintain strong working and client relationships
  • Loves to problem solve
  • Takes pride in their work
