Role Overview:
- Provide high-quality support and services to young people with mental health issues in a residential setting
- Work collaboratively with young people to develop and maintain relationships, promoting independence and self-esteem
- Assist young people in developing daily living skills, including guidance, supervision, and encouragement
- Mentor and act as a role model for young people, promoting positive social skills and healthy relationships
- Encourage and educate young people on healthy living habits, supporting emotional well-being
Requirements:
- Minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services, or a related discipline (ideally a completed Diploma or Bachelor's degree)
- Experience working with young people experiencing mental health issues
- Demonstrated capacity to relate to young people, their families, and other stakeholders with dignity and respect
- Ability to assess risk and manage crisis situations calmly and effectively
- Effective listening and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of and commitment to the principles of duty of care, rights to privacy, and confidentiality
- Ability to link program participants with community resources and promote their rights and responsibilities
- Availability for overnight shifts and a rotating 24/7 roster
- Eligibility to apply for a Blue Card and NDIS worker screening clearance
- Current driver's license
