Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced waste truck driver/street cleaner to join our Cleansing Team in the Inner West. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness of our city's roads, paths, and laneways.

Salary

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $36.09 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

  • Undertaking street cleaning operations, including sweeping, litter collection, and operating minor plant equipment such as high-pressure hoses and blowers;
  • Carrying out routine cleaning and maintenance tasks in amenities, footpaths, roads, shopping centers, pits, and car parks;
  • Conducting inspections of facilities and reporting on maintenance and equipment issues;
  • Rubbish removal and ad-hoc street cleansing duties.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A valid MR licence; experience driving a compactor is highly desirable;
  • A White Card; steel toe cap boots, and a high-visibility shirt or vest are essential;
  • Ability to work without supervision and have previous experience in a similar role an advantage.

COVID-19 Vaccination Certification

The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of their double vaccination status or a valid medical contraindication certificate prior to appointment.
