Job Opportunity:

The Digital Preservation Technical Analyst is responsible for providing technical expertise and advice on digital preservation strategies for legacy and contemporary digital collections.

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of a wide range of legacy and forensic hardware and software systems to analyze and identify data types, file formats, and their dependencies.
  • Conduct research and complex problem-solving to provide expert advice in the technical assessment, extraction, migration, and/or emulation of digital collections.
  • Develop and implement ingest and migration workflows, including writing and executing scripts in accordance with organizational application development standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports documenting digital preservation decisions and contribute to the continuous improvement of business rules, procedures, and policies for acquiring, managing, and preserving digital collections.

Maintain strong collaborative working relationships with business units, vendors, and key stakeholders. Stay up-to-date with current and emerging developments in digital preservation theory and practice through self-directed professional reading and active participation in professional networks.
