Key Role in Medical Administration

This pivotal position plays a critical role in the Directorate of the Chief Medical Officer. As a key member, you will provide specific assistance to support strategic, operational and business planning.

The successful candidate will assist with drafting and dissemination of policy and other governance documents as requested, ensuring that patient safety and clinical governance requirements are met. Additionally, you will support the Directors of Training in junior medical officer and doctor-in-training matters and training requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to understand, support and shape the delivery of health services in rural and regional Victoria. You will have substantial experience in clinical medicine, knowledge of medico-legal issues, and be familiar with current clinical quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management programs.

Key responsibilities include supporting the Chief Medical Officer in strategic, operational, and business planning, participating in relevant projects, assisting with drafting and dissemination of policy and other governance documents, and ensuring patient safety and clinical governance requirements are met.

Required skills and qualifications include a medical degree, current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration, substantial experience in clinical medicine, knowledge of medico-legal issues, and familiarity with junior medical officer and doctor-in-training matters and training requirements.
