Heavy Vehicle Technician Training Role

We are seeking an experienced trainer to join our team in Melbourne, Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing classroom, workshop hands-on and technical training for apprentices and new technicians.

  • Coaching and developing less experienced technicians and apprentices to independently undertake troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on Cummins products.
  • Delivery of diesel engine fundamentals and basic diagnostic training to all apprentices in the region.
  • Participating in regular capability trainer meetings and providing updates on progress against heavy vehicle mechanical milestone training plans for the apprentices in your branch or region.
  • Providing stakeholder updates and regularly communicating your training program delivery schedule with supervisors, workshop managers and service managers.
  • Maintaining a focus on apprentice safety by participating in extended pre-start meetings to ensure their understanding of workplace hazards and risks.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Advanced level knowledge of and experience with heavy duty engine products.
  • Previous experience providing technical advice and coaching to apprentices/technicians.
  • Possess or be willing to work towards achievement of certificate IV in training and assessment.
  • Minimum 4 years post-trade apprenticeship completion preferred.
  • Candidates must be based in Melbourne, Australia and willing to travel across the region as required.
