Visy Fibre Division is seeking a skilled Maintenance Team Lead to oversee the Smithfield manufacturing facility's Maintenance Department.

This role is pivotal in driving operational efficiency, plant reliability, and team success in a dynamic environment dedicated to sustainable packaging solutions.

The Opportunity

Maintenance Excellence

As the Maintenance Team Lead, you'll be responsible for leading the maintenance team to achieve high standards in safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency within our corrugated board manufacturing plant.

  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Visy's OHS, GMP, and risk management standards, championing a safety-first culture and implementing effective preventative measures.
  • Operational Efficiency: Plan and oversee preventive maintenance schedules, coordinate major repairs, and continuously improve maintenance processes to optimize uptime and productivity.
  • Inventory Management: Manage critical spares inventory effectively, ensuring availability for high-demand maintenance requirements.
  • Technical Leadership: Address skill gaps, strengthen team technical competencies, and provide guidance to the trades team, maintaining a high standard of performance and addressing non-compliance proactively.
  • Collaboration & Problem Solving: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues affecting plant performance, implementing data-driven solutions to improve productivity and reliability.

About You

  • You are a trade-qualified Electrician or Fitter with hands-on leadership experience, ideally within Corrugated, FMCG, or other manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven track record in maintenance team management, with a focus on continuous improvement and results-driven leadership.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities, with experience in optimizing maintenance practices and driving plant performance.
