Compensation Specialist Role

This technical role supports our assessment process by undertaking complex pre-injury average weekly earnings (PIAWE) calculations to determine the correct rate of compensation.

You will provide expert advice and act as a reference point for claims staff, customers, and business stakeholders on matters related to PIAWE.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a specialist resource for legislation and technical claims matters in relation to PIAWE.
  • Calculate accurate PIAWE on assigned claims within required timeframes.
  • Liaise with claims staff, employers, and workers as required to obtain information for timely and accurate PIAWE calculations.
  • Lead performance monitoring, service delivery, and training and development of staff.
  • Ensure all customers receive support and guidance for injured workers to recover and make a safe return to work.
