Senior Train Operations Manager

As a Train Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and safe operation of trains during dynamic and static testing phases. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with safety standards and supporting the successful execution of rolling stock validation activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring train readiness and availability for testing activities
- Leading safety management during dynamic tests on public infrastructure
- Acting as the single point of contact for test drivers during certification tests
- Coordinating onboard personnel and conducting safety briefings
- Supporting failure reporting, test documentation, and troubleshooting
- Overseeing static test activities and ensuring risk controls are applied
- Authorizing test stoppage if train safety is compromised
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Experience in testing or validation
- A strong understanding of Australian safety laws and regulations
- Excellent coordination and decision-making abilities
- Knowledge of specific testing domains (EMC, Brake, Traction, Train Control)
- Expertise in troubleshooting, instrumentation, and data acquisition
