Community Recovery Leadership Role

Job Description:

This leadership role involves coordinating community recovery efforts in response to disasters, crises, and incidents. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategic plans to support affected communities.

The position requires a strong understanding of disaster management systems, experience in community building and resilience planning, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Candidates should have excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to represent the department at local, district, and regional levels.

We are seeking a skilled leader who can provide strategic advice and support to Senior Leaders, while also working autonomously and collaboratively to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community recovery strategic and operational plans.
  • Partner with local councils, government departments, and non-government organisations to plan and implement human and social recovery responses.
  • Represent the department at local, district, and regional levels to support community recovery efforts.
Requirements
  • A strong understanding of Queensland's disaster management system.
  • Experience in community building, resilience planning, and disaster recovery.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
