Primary Responsibilities


Establish and maintain a strong health, safety, and environmental culture within Standard Aero, ensuring all staff are aware of and actively participate in safety initiatives.
Provide regular reports on safety performance and the effectiveness of mitigation actions, contributing to data-driven decision-making.
Lead the Safety Committee as Chair, participating in the Safety Review Board and Safety Action Groups to drive continuous improvement.
Oversee the safety reporting scheme, occurrence reporting systems, and initiation of reporting, investigation, and resolution/mitigation assistance.
Develop, implement, and promote comprehensive health and safety policies, ensuring adherence by employees and collaborating with external agencies and industry groups.
In collaboration with the Compliance Monitoring Manager, maintain regulatory certification regarding aviation safety management systems.
Assume the role of Chief Fire Warden, leading fire safety efforts at the site.
Support the Manager, HR, in rehabilitation and return-to-work processes and oversee suitable duties programs with respective managers.
Implement and manage training courses for new and existing employees on health and safety policies and regulatory training/assessment requirements.
Contribute to the development and implementation of environmental strategies that align with Corporate objectives, including sustainable development, resource conservation, and waste reduction.
Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification to ensure the site remains compliant and risks are identified and managed.
Lead EHS audits (both internal and external), including preparation, resolution of non-compliance, and review of observations.
Provide support to the leadership team in implementing key safety initiatives, ensuring key members are supported to implement initiatives.
Take ownership of site security issues, including employee security, site security, and management of security events in collaboration with the General Manager and Manager HR.

Position Requirements


Possess full working rights in Australia.
Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management/Environmental or a closely related field.
Demonstrate experience working with multidisciplinary teams, both locally and internationally.
Display intermediate knowledge of relevant systems, including MS suite and electronic safety systems.
Demonstrate a high-level understanding and implementation of safety plans, with the ability to review and implement changes in response to changing business needs.
Exhibit the ability to work autonomously and with little direction, set own schedule, and adapt to changing needs as they arise.
